Circling Raven Golf Club - the resort course in the Idaho Panhandle and an amenity of the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort Hotel - has been selected by the PGA's Inland Empire Chapter to host "Play Golf America Day," on Sunday, Aug. 20.
Free activities will include lessons from area PGA professionals, club fitting, swing analysis, demo clubs and equipment from national vendors, golf gifts and multiple drawings throughout the afternoon. This is one of more than 45 Play Golf America Days that will take place across the U.S.
Play Golf America, a nationwide golf-marketing program led by the PGA of America, represents a culmination of industry efforts to grow the game of golf. Launched in 2004, the campaign focuses on a target audience of new and occasional golfers - a combined group of 31 million individuals - to bolster play at public golf facilities.
"We are honored to host Play Golf America Day and to further the PGA of America's goal of growing the game," says Circling Raven director of golf Dave Christenson. "Circling Raven is thrilled to have been selected by the Inland Empire Chapter of Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho to host the event on our expansive practice facility."
Circling Raven's practice facility covers 25 acres separated into areas for wedges, sand play and all clubs in the bag.
Play Golf America connects players in various market segments to a variety of programs designed to foster player development and encourage participation in the sport through its main Internet portal PlayGolfAmerica.com. Among the many Play Golf America initiatives featured on at the website are Link Up 2 Golf, Free Lesson Month and the Golf: For Business and Life college course. Visitors can also view a list of courses in their area and which programs they offer.
