Circling Raven Golf Club named one of the best golf courses in the American West

An Amenity of the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort & Hotel, the Course Ranks No. 12, Tops Big Name Courses in Hawaii, California and Arizona.

Circling Raven Golf Club and the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort & Hotel in Worley, Idaho, announced that the award-winning Gene Bates layout in the scenic Idaho Panhandle is rated the No. 12 resort course in the American West by Fairways and Greens Magazine.

The "Signature Series" issue contains two "best of" lists, one for non-resort courses (those without accommodations onsite) and resort courses. Circling Raven placed No. 12 on the latter list, ahead of nationally ranked and acclaimed properties such as Troon North (Monument), Torrey Pines (South), Kapalua Plantation, Loews Ventana Canyon and Half Moon Bay (Old Course).

"Circling Raven Golf Club is greatly pleased with this honor and we hope it entices people to visit the resort and course and judge for themselves why we continue to garner these types of best-of distinctions," says David Lasarte, Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort & Hotel CEO.

Fairways and Greens Magazine covers golf, travel and lifestyle throughout the West and beyond, and is one of the industry's widest circulating, highly-read regional golf magazines. The year-end issue is dedicated to filling readers in on the top experiences to be had from the Sonoran desert of Phoenix-Scottsdale to Vancouver Island, from Coeur d'Alene in northern Idaho to the island of Kaua'i. The two Top 36 lists were compiled by editors Vic Williams and Darin Bunch with input from the magazine's stable of well-traveled freelance writers.

Owned and operated by the Coeur d'Alene Indian Tribe, Circling Raven has racked up a slew of best-of honors since its first full season in 2004, including from Golf, Golfweek, Golf Digest and Zagat Survey.

Circling Raven's "neighbor" and fellow member of the Idaho Golf Trail's Northern Loop, Coeur d'Alene Resort Course, also made Fairways and Greens top 36 list at No. 11. This joint acclaim supports the assertion by many raters, consumers and industry participants that these two courses comprise one of the nation's strongest combinations of public-access courses located close to one another (an easy, scenic 25 minute drive).
