Circling Raven Golf Club gives golfer a free 52-person tourney

The resort, in Worley, Idaho, is rewarding customers with a series of giveaways, sales and special events.

What avid golfer wouldn’t want to host – free – 51 of his or her closest friends for a round of golf and good spirit at one of the nation’s most decorated courses?

Fla
Randy Martin, left , with Steve Caruso, interim director of golf at Circling Raven Golf Club.

That’s precisely what Randy Martin of Spokane, Wash., experienced at Circling Raven Golf Club, the distinguished resort amenity owned and operated by the Coeur d’Alene Tribe at the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel.

How did Martin, a financial planner, come by such a rare, valuable “gift” from a Top 100 caliber course nationally?

A “regular” at Circling Raven – located 45 minutes east of Spokane here in the Idaho panhandle – Martin’s name was randomly drawn from a hat which included the names of customers who play frequently at Circling Raven, supporting the club throughout the 2007 season.

Martin’s group had the course to themselves on Oct. 22, one day after its official closing.

No charge.  No strings.  No kidding.

“Our purpose is simple and it’s sincere,” said Circling Raven interim Director of Golf Steve Caruso. “We appreciate those, near or far, who come to the course and give us their business.  Randy is a perfect example, really.  He loves Circling Raven, he’s a regular player and he represents us well.”

Martin, an eight handicap golfer, plays the course about twice per week.

“This is just amazing,” Martin says.  “It’s like being 10 years old, having a birthday party and everybody wants to come.  I’m very excited about this and I can’t say how much I appreciate it.”

And his guests came from far and wide.  Martin said he had commitments to fill the group after only three days, including one player from as far away as San Diego.

“Inviting people has been great fun and we’ll have people from all walks of life,” said Martin. “It’s unbelievable that a golf club, especially one of Circling Raven’s stature, would offer something like this.”

Martin’s not the only one set to reap rewards from Circling Raven.

The golf club’s award-winning retail shop will remain open through Dec. 31 and again host customer-appreciation events and sales. The golf shop offers unique Indian Country artwork and lifestyle gift items, as well as golf and Circling Raven logo merchandise.

While the golf course will close for the year on Oct. 21, effective Oct. 23 through Oct. 31 the golf clubhouse is open Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. offering an end-of-season closeout sale with merchandise 30 to 50 percent off all items in stock.

Beginning Nov. 23 – the day after Thanksgiving – and through Dec. 31 Circling Raven will feature its 4th Annual Holiday Sale.  The golf club’s retail shop will be open Tuesday-Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  During this period various items will be on sale from 25 to 50 percent off.

The golf club will also host customer-appreciation events during this timeframe, including a general public open house Dec. 8 and an invitation only event for top 100 customers Dec. 15.  Circling Raven’s top customers will be treated to golf shop items at discounted rates, giveaways, appetizers and drinks. They will be sent their invitations via letter along with a screensaver CD with 18 images of the 7,189-yard course, which just completed its fourth full season.

“Circling Raven puts our customers first, so we’re thanking them with these events for their strong and loyal support,” says interim Director of Golf Steve Caruso. “Our tee sheet was often full and our merchandise sales exceeded projections again this year. This is a token of our appreciation.”
