Circling Raven Golf Club and Henry-Griffitts promote junior golf

The course in Worley, Idaho, and the clubfitting-sales company will host junior golf lessons and activities.

Circling Raven Golf Club announced that the award-winning Gene Bates-designed layout in the Idaho panhandle is teaming with Henry-Griffitts – the pioneer in clubfitting and quality clubmaking based in Hayden – to host junior golf lessons and activities at Circling Raven June 25-28.

As part of the promotion, children ages 7-17 who participate will receive a driver and iron in addition to instruction and a souvenir. Monday-Wednesday are dedicated to lessons with children ages 7-11 enjoying instruction from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and children 12-17 from 3:30-5 p.m. Thursday concludes the program with a fun competition called “Junior Horse Race” in which participants vie to win, place or show.

Many of the 50 junior participants are members of the community and/or Coeur d’Alene Indian Tribe, which owns and operates Circling Raven, an amenity of the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel. In addition to Henry-Griffitts, Pepsi is donating product to support the event, and the Benewah Medical Center and Coeur d’Alene Tribal Wellness Center is helping underwrite the participant fee.

“We’re proud to work with Henry-Griffitts in this player development initiative,” says Circling Raven Director of Golf David Christenson. “Providing learning experiences like this in a fun and instructional format builds skills and confidence in junior players, which inspires them to continue exploring the game and possibly become players for life. This is something the game dearly needs and it’s a wholesome experience and environment for young people. The fact that many of these young people are members of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe makes it even more special as it brings the resort and golf club full circle on its mission to enhance their lives.”

“Henry-Griffitts is glad to provide golf clubs for the youth participants in this junior development program because it will help them get started in golf and hopefully begin them down a lifelong path of healthy enjoyment, recreation and success in the game,” says Henry-Griffitts c.e.o. Jim Hofmeister.
