Cider Ridge Golf Club in Oxford, Ala. recently welcomed Brian Woods as the club’s new golf course superintendent. Woods will oversee agronomy operations and a staff of 12 for the 18-hole daily fee facility.
Woods is a graduate of the Penn State University Turfgrass Management Program. He has built his pedigree at many fine properties including Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York and Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California. Woods most recently served as the Gold Course superintendent at Tiburón Golf Club, a 36-hole, Troon-managed facility in Naples, Florida. He has been a part of many PGA TOUR, LPGA Tour and USGA golf tournaments and strives to consistently provide championship level course conditions.
“We welcome Brian to the team at Cider Ridge,” said Lee Shurden, the club’s director of golf and club manager. “Brian’s experience, attention to detail and incredible work ethic are invaluable as we continue to deliver pristine course conditions for guests of Cider Ridge and the City of Oxford.”
An avid outdoorsman, Woods enjoys playing golf, fishing and hiking in his spare time. Brian and his wife, Katya, recently relocated to the Oxford area.
Cider Ridge Golf Club is managed by Honours Golf, a Troon company.
