Celebration Golf Club hosts annual bash

“Celebration Masters” draws golfers with new name.

Celebration Golf Club recently hosted its Annual Celebration Town Championship during the Masters weekend. Kenny Nairn, golf director at Celebration, said the annual tournament’s schedule has given the event a new name: the Celebration Masters.

Nairn said Celebration Golf Club gave each of the tournament division winners a Celebration Blue crested jacket to seal the deal.

“The tournament was a huge success. We had a tremendous turnout and a great time,” said Nairn. The tournament was open to seniors, men, women and juniors golfers who live, work or learn in Celebration.

Top three finishers in the Men’s Division included Ivor Lapsley, who shot a 75 stroke opening round and 83 on the second for a tournament score of 158; Jack Martinez, who shot a first-round 84 and finished with 162; and Jason Carpenter, with an 80 stroke opening round and a 163 finish.
