Jordan, Minn. – Kent Group announced the completion of the acquisition of Fertimix by CE-Minne Industries.
Fertimix is a Jordan, Minn.-based specialty fertilizer and ice melt products company. The company’s ice melt products are marketed under the Melt-Mor trade name.
Daren Klegstad, CE-Minne’s owner, says he will continue to do business as Fertimix and focus the company’s marketing and distribution in the Midwest region currently concentrating in the Minnesota, Wisconsin, Northern Iowa and Dakota areas.
Fertimix was a subsidiary of Quali-Trade, a regional wholesaler of bulk agricultural fertilizer ingredients. Harley Hohenstein, Quali-Trade’s president and c.e.o. says the decision to divest Fertimix was influenced by the need to keep Quali-Trade’s management focused on the ever-changing agricultural fertilizer industry and the complexity of international sourcing, raw material price fluctuations and industry consolidation.
“Fertimix has been a great business for us during the past 20 years and we thoroughly enjoy the industry,” Hohenstein says. “We are confident Daren will keep Fertimix’s growth ongoing and continue to serve customers very well.”
