Carrick Design Inc. is currently working on four projects, with a fifth in the planning stages.
The Carrick on Loch Lomond
Located on the shores of Loch Lomond in Scotland. Construction began last year on an 18-hole championship golf course of approx. 7,100 yards. The project is being developed by De Vere Resorts and includes the development, 100 timeshare lodges and a world-class spa.
The Carrick on Loch Lomond will share a relationship with The Cameron House Hotel, also owed by De Vere just a few kilometers south on the Loch. The course is designed as a traditional Scottish heathlands course and will feature revetted bunkers, gorse and heather as well as some stunning views of Loch Lomond and the highlands. The course is scheduled to open in 2006.
Muskoka Bay Golf Club
Located in Gravenhurst, Ontario in the rugged Muskoka landscape, the course is a par 72 measuring just over 7,200 yards from the championship tees. The course features holes that weave through mature forest and around dramatic rock ridges and cliffs. Scheduled to open in 2006, it’s being developed by Freed Corporation and includes luxury homesites nestled into the Muskoka landscape.
Cobble Beach Golf Course
The Cobble Beach Golf Course is golf residential community being developed just north of Owen Sound, on the shores of Georgian Bay in Lake Huron. The course features four holes along high bluffs of the shoreline of Georgian Bay and many other with long views over the lake. The course is styled with rugged, undulating fairways similar to Western Gailes in Scotland. It’s scheduled to open in 2006.
Frog’s Breath
Frog’s Breath is a seven-hole, privately owned course presently under construction in New Liskeard, Ontario. The course weaves through mature trees and around rugged rock outcroppings.
Lough Key Golf Resort
Carrick Designs also is working on an 18-hole golf resort in County Roscommon in Ireland. The project is in the planning stage and is expected to be under way late this year.
The project is located on the shores of Lough Key and will feature a hotel, holiday lodges and an 18-hole championship course. It is being developed by Newfound Developers.
