The Golf Course Industry team is packing bags of clothes, boxes of content and, yes, golf clubs, and making our annual trek to Myrtle Beach for the Carolinas GCSA Conference and Show.
Our 2022 objective is simple: we want to listen. And we’re not talking about listening to the peaceful sound of waves touching the South Carolina coast, although we do realize that’s a dreamy way to begin Myrtle Beach mornings. Beach and boardwalk runs and walks are highly recommended to clear minds and energize bodies when visiting the Grand Strand.
We want to learn everything possible about your course’s or company’s story. Our listening post is booth #2016 inside the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Editor-in-chief Guy Cipriano, managing editor Matt LaWell, national sales manager Russ Warner and account manager “Mr.” Jimmy Clark will be available throughout the trade show and auxiliary events to listen to your story.
Trade show hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 and 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16. Popular “America’s Greenkeeper” columnist Matthew Wharton will be around the booth the evening of Nov. 15 to chat with colleagues.
Who knows? Maybe your story will be featured in a 2023 edition of Golf Course Industry — or you’ll at least get your picture on our @GCIMagazine Twitter feed. Cipriano and LaWell are producing video and podcast content focusing on what they are hearing and seeing in Myrtle Beach.
While we’re listening, we’re going to be distributing swag to visitors, including:
- #TurfheadsGrilling koozies
- Golf Course Industry, Superintendent Radio Network and #TurfheadsGrilling stickers
- Copies of our October and September issues
- An opportunity to win a #TurfheadsGrilling cutting board at the end of the show
- Plenty of drink tickets for the Nov. 15 “Carolinas Night” on the show floor event
Can’t make it to the show? Look for coverage on our Twitter feed and Superintendent Radio Network.
Get your story — and comfortable shoes — ready.
