Carlson leaves Jacobsen

Barclay Olson, president of Textron’s industrial segment, will run the business until a replacement is named.

Charlotte, N.C. – Jon R. Carlson, president of Jacobsen, has left the company to pursue other interests. Barclay Olson, president of Textron’s industrial segment, will run the business until a replacement is named. During the transition, Jacobsen will continue to be fully supported by Textron’s management team.

“Jacobsen’s strategic direction remains unchanged,” says Olson. “We will continue to focus intensely on dealer and customer satisfaction, product innovation and reliability, and ultimately superior business performance.”

Olson notes that Jacobsen plans to continue investing capital to develop new products, strengthen customer and dealer programs, and support scientific research to benefit the industry.

Jacobsen consolidated its plants and moved its headquarters to Charlotte. Carlson was hired to lead the newly integrated business.

Olson, who will be working from Jacobsen’s Charlotte headquarters as well as from his offices in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., hopes to have the search completed by early fall.
