Capital investments expand production of erosion control products

Profile Products is expanding the capacity of its Conover, N.C. facilities, home of the company's most advanced erosion control technologies, in conjunction with a recent expansion of its Sanger, Calif. plant. Major capital investments and enhanced manufacturing efficiencies at Conover, along with the improvements in Sanger, will soon result in a dramatic increase in the company's production capacity to ensure there is a reliable supply of erosion control products across the country.

"Our new, overall capacity will greatly enhance Profile's ability to meet the needs of North American and international markets in a very timely fashion," said John Schoch, c.e.o. of Profile. "The improvements now in place at Sanger and those nearing completion at our Conover facilities are rooted in our constant desire to provide new erosion control technologies and even better service to our customers."

In addition to increasing its production capacity, Profile also constructed a new, 150,000 square-foot distribution center to support the Conover manufacturing plant. The Hickory Distribution Center was completed in July and went on line in August of this year.

Investments in the Conover facility include funding improvements for drying, refining and bagging technologies. The Conover plant manufactures Profile's erosion control products such as hydraulic mulch, blankets and filtration tubes. Specific products include Flexterra Flexible Growth Medium, Futerra, Futerra F4 Netless, Terra-Tubes Fiber Filtration Tubes and Hydro-Blanket Bonded Fiber Matrix.
