Continuing its support for professional golf, Canon U.S.A., Inc.,announced that it has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour professional Natalie Gulbis for the 2006 LPGA season.
The 23-year-old Gulbis achieved more than 10 top-10 finishes in 2005, including a tie for fourth place at the U.S.Women’s Open, and has posted several top-five finishes already in 2006. She also qualified for her first Solheim Cup, a biennial USA vs. Europe team match play competition that is viewed as the premier event in women’s world golf, in 2005.
“Natalie is one of today’s rising stars on the LPGA tour, and has become synonymous with the future of women’s sports,” says Tod Pike, senior vice president, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A. “We welcome Natalie into the Canon family and look forward to supporting her during this golf season.”
Canon has long-standing relationships with the PGA TOUR, the Metropolitan Golf Association and the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). Canon is the official copier, facsimile, MFP, printer, scanner, camera and binocular of the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour. The company has also been the title sponsor for the Canon Cup, the leading junior golf match play competition, since 1990. In addition to Gulbis, Canon U.S.A. has sponsorship agreements with PGA TOUR Professionals Jay and Bill Haas, Briny Baird and Billy Andrade, as well as LPGA Professionals Michelle McGann and Brittany Lang.
