MEDICINE HAT, Alta. -- A friendly Canada goose refuses to leave a southern Alberta golf course despite relocation efforts in which he was dumped eight kilometres from his favourite links.
Nicknamed "Gus'' by golfers, the bird waddled his way onto the golf course in Medicine Hat about three weeks ago.
Concerned for its safety, course manager Marcia Pratt called wildlife officials to take Gus away last week.
But just three days later, the spirited goose returned.
Gus's persistence prompted Pratt to let him play through until the end of the season.
The goose spends his days following golfers from fairway to fairway and even practices proper golf etiquette, by watching quietly.
