Camp Creek to take part in Patriot Golf Day

PGA- and USGA-sanctioned program will support Wounded Warriors, Fallen Heroes Foundation.

Watersound, Fla. – Camp Creek Golf Club -- the award-winning Tom Fazio design developed by The St. Joe Company and located along Northwest Florida’s stunning Gulf Coast – and the innovative Origins Course designed by Davis Love III, will participate in the inaugural Patriot Golf Day Sept. 1.
Supported by both the PGA of America and the United States Golf Association (USGA), golfers across the country have the unique opportunity to donate $1 to Wounded Warriors, Inc., which will also benefit the Fallen Heroes Foundation supporting families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of military duty. The goal is for participating facilities to collect a $1 donation from every golfer (in addition to the normal greens fee) in support of both organizations.
“We’re honored to participate in Patriot Golf Day and to support those who serve our country,” says Will Hopkins, Camp Creek General Manager. “With Camp Creek and the Origins Course, we have two very different yet complementary options for golfers.”
Members and resort guests of St. Joe’s WaterColor and WaterSound Beach resorts are invited and welcome to take part in Patriot Golf Day at Camp Creek. Area golfers can participate by playing the Origins Course, which is open to the public. Designed by Davis Love III, the Origins Course plays as both a regulation six-hole and 10-hole par-3 layout.

About Patriot Golf Day
Patriot Golf Day was created by Dan Rooney, a member of the Oklahoma Air National Guard, PGA of America (professional) and a USGA. Rooney has served two tours flying F-16s over Iraq and being familiar with the devastating losses some families have suffered due to their loved ones´ service to their country, he was determined to find a way to help them through the power of golf. Rooney’s idea for giving back to these families is Patriot Golf Day. On Sept. 1, 2007, PGA Professionals at all types of golf facilities will ask for a $1 donation on top of every green fee received, or in the case of private facilities, for a donation from every club member who tees off that day.
