Camp Creek Golf Club -- the Tom Fazio-designed, St. Joe-developed course located in Seagrove Beach, Fla. - announced it will feature an elite caddie program for members and guests of WaterColor and WaterSound vacation rentals, and the WaterColor Inn and Resort.
The service will be available no later than Sept. 15, as caddies provided by Caddiemaster, Inc. -- a provider of caddie management services in the U.S. and abroad -- train onsite to learn the nuances of Camp Creek's intricate layout. Each caddie will undergo a minimum of five three-hour training sessions, studying hole routing, terrain movement, bunker characteristics and green breaks. Caddies will also immerse themselves in the day to day operations of the course, interacting with members, guests and golf course staff.
Once assimilated, Camp Creek's collection of 25 caddies will help manage, create and refine the overall experience of playing the award-winning golf course. Members will have the option of using a forecaddie, walking caddie or no caddie. For resort rounds and unaccompanied member rounds, caddies will be included as part of the fee. Caddie duties include: providing general hole descriptions and target lines, spotting balls, providing yardage, replacing/filling divots, fixing pitch marks and raking bunkers. They will also attend the flagstick, clean players' balls on the green, and provide green reads if requested.
"This caddie program, the same used at Pebble Beach, Pinehurst Whistling Straits and a number of Ritz Carlton golf properties, elevates the quality of service and overall experience at Camp Creek and provides a refined, traditional element that will appeal to our members and guests," says Will Hopkins, general manager of Camp Creek. "Camp Creek is the only course in the entire region to offer a caddie program of this pedigree. We are excited about its potential to further cement Camp Creek's reputation as one of the most premier golf clubs in the southeastern United States."
Camp Creek transitioned from public to private this summer, with restricted play for members and JOE resort guests beginning Labor Day. Under the privatization plan, play at Camp Creek is limited to club members and their guests, guests of the WaterColor Inn and Resort and those staying at JOE rental management properties (WaterColor and WaterSound). Memberships are currently available for purchase on a limited basis and are offered only to property owners in designated JOE towns and communities in the area, including nearby WaterColor and WaterSound Beach.
