California golf course gearing up for Suds on the Green

Pro golf team Sacramento Eagles will bring more than 40 different beers to William Land Park.

Suds on the Green, Sacramento, Calif.'s newest beer festival, is coming Saturday, Sept. 22 to William Land Golf Course.

"It's amazing to see," says Matson Breakey, co-founder of the event, "of all the events we've done in the past, this one is going to blow away first year expectations!"

Suds on the Green is an event combining the tradition of golf with  drinking beer. But the beer drinkers don't have to play golf - they can kick back and watch the pros at work.

The National Golf League's Sacramento Eagles Pro Golf Team is hosting this great event as a fundraiser for The First Tee of Greater Sacramento in conjunction with a tournament that pits the Eagles against five other Northern California teams including the Davis Zone, San Francisco Spin, East Bay Power, Silicon Valley Drivers and the Sonoma Marin Breakers.

The tournament starts at 10 a.m., with the beer drinking starting at 2 p.m.

NGL golf is a team based sport that pits each team against each other at each hole. The team that wins the hole, gains a point. The team with the most points wins.

"Each team will go three rounds, which makes the afternoon the most exciting part of the tournament," Matson says. "Beer Festival attendees will be able to enjoy unlimited beer tasting, listen to great music, eat some awesome food and watch the teams fight for the day's victory."

The event will take place around the final hole of the nine-hole course. For more information and to get tickets, visit http://www.SudsOnTheGreen.com
