Branton Woods transitions to a private facility

Members have playing privileges at eight courses.

Branton Woods Golf Club is now officially a private golfing facility. As of 12:01 a.m. Sept. 1, the Eric Bergstol-designed course made the transition from public to private on schedule. The club celebrated with an all-day golf and food celebration for its members.

"It was a priority for us to make the transition on schedule for our members," says Brian Freeswick, general manager. "We are thrilled to have successfully reached this milestone in our club's history. We have a great membership and look forward to continuing to add to that roster."

Branton Woods Golf Club opened in 2002. It was selected by Golf Digest as being among `America's Best New Courses' and `Best Courses in New York.' Golf Magazine rated it among the `35 Best New Courses' to open in 2002. This year it was awarded Northeast Golf Magazine's Readers Choice awards for `Best New Courses,' `Best Northeast Courses' and `Best Clubhouse Design.'

Branton Woods club members are automatically enrolled in the ClubMax USA membership program.
