Bolingbrook hosts World Youth Team Challenge

The second annual golf event is scheduled June 7-10 in at the golf club in Illinois.

Junior golfers from as far away as South Africa will return to Bolingbrook June 7-10 to compete in the second annual World Youth Team Challenge at Bolingbrook Golf Club.  The South African team will face off against teams from Mexico, Canada, USA teams from the East Coast, Midwest and West Coast, and the defending champion USA National team.

The event, hosted by the Illinois Junior Golf Club, is patterned after the Ryder Cup, with combinations of both Foursome and Four-Ball matches.  The boys and girls are grouped by their ages, which range from nine to 14.

“We are excited to be holding this event again at Bolingbrook Golf Club,” said Pete Singhsumalee, the tournament chairman for the World Youth Team Challenge.  “The great golf course and facility make for a tremendous venue for our championship.  The kids are very excited about the opportunity to play there."

Taylor Made Golf will also be providing each junior player with the “Taylor Made Tour Experience” on the driving range during practice rounds prior to the tournament.  Taylor Made Tour Techs will use swing and launch monitoring equipment to give each junior the same attention Tour pros receive.

Tee times begin Saturday and Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m., and Monday and Tuesday morning at 7:00 a.m.   Opening ceremonies will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m., and closing ceremonies will take place following the completion of play on Tuesday, June 10.
