Bluegreen Golf names Chapel Ridge contractor

NewCourse Golf of Carthage, N.C. will be the general contractor for golf course construction for the Chapel Ridge Golf Course project in Pittsboro, N.C.

Fred Ward, project manager for Bluegreen Golf of Atlanta, Ga., announced the selection of NewCourse Golf of Carthage, N.C. to be the general contractor for golf course construction for their Chapel Ridge Golf Course project in Pittsboro, N.C.

The golf course will be the centerpiece for an 800 unit housing community in the Raleigh suburb. Work began in September 2004 with a scheduled completion date of July 2005.

Architect for the 7,100-yard layout is Robert Moore of JMP Design Group.

“Seven qualified contractors submitted bids for this golf project,” Ward says. “We spent a lot of time researching all the builders and determined that NewCourse Golf was the best fit for our project. Throughout the bidding and negotiation process NewCourse Golf displayed a great understanding of our needs and budget limitations. They provided us with many construction alternatives – all of which will allow us stretch our dollars and still achieve the high-quality finished product that is our trademark.”

Bob Richard, NewCourse Golf president, is excited about the project.

“We are extremely pleased to have been chosen as the general contactor for the Chapel Hill project,” he says. “We look forward to working closely with architect Robert Moore and Bluegreen to bring this project to a successful completion.”
