Blue Ridge joins KemperSports family

KemperSports was selected to manage Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club, an 18-hole design slated for a 2006 opening in Front Royal, Va.

Front Royal, Va. - Owners of Blue Ridge Shadows announced their selection of KemperSports as manager of Blue Ridge Shadows Golf Club in Front Royal, Va., a historic town located 70 miles west of Washington, D.C. KemperSports also will provide development consulting.

The course, currently under construction, is scheduled to open in 2006 as part of the greater Blue Ridge Shadows resort community, set amid the Shenandoah Valley. Measuring 7,200 plus yards from the tips, the 18-hole par 72 features bent grass tees, fairways and greens and multiple tees.

Surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains, the layout consists of two very distinct 9-hole sides, which make for a unique golf experience. In addition to the course, designed by architect Tom Clark of Ault, Clark & Associates, the property will feature a state-of-the-art clubhouse as well as a full-service hotel and spa with meeting and convention facilities for more than 400 people.

"We're very excited to join this endeavor and bring our knowledge of the Mid-Atlantic to Blue Ridge Shadows," says Steve Skinner, president of KemperGolf, a division of KemperSports. "The course will undoubtedly raise the bar in this region, and we will work diligently to prepare for its successful 2006 debut."
