Jeff Ulvedal, the director of golf at Blackstone Country Club at Vistancia, has been promoted to general manager, it was recently announced.
Blackstone is the newest private community in the northwest Valley located in north Peoria. It is being developed in a joint partnership with Sunbelt Holdings and Shea Homes, both headquartered in Scottsdale.
Ulvedal, who has been at Blackstone since it opened, will oversee all club operations as well as staff of the 18-hole private golf course designed by Colorado architect James Engh.
“In addition to his experience and knowledge of the club and its members, Jeff brings great enthusiasm to his new position,” says Curt Smith, chief financial officer and chief operating officer for Sunbelt Holdings.
Prior to joining Blackstone Country Club in 2005, Ulvedal served as head professional at Forest Highlands for four years. He was also an assistant golf professional at Sedona Golf Resort.
A graduate of Northern Arizona University and a member of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA), Ulvedal has played in southwest sectional events and on the Pepsi Tour. He completed the PGA’s professional training program in less than two years.
The 590-acre Blackstone community has been designed to offer a true country club experience for all family members. It features the 30,000-square-foot Hacienda clubhouse and a variety of upscale golf and recreational opportunities.
