Billy Casper Golf ("BCG") announced the company has signed a multi-year agreement to operate Pine Ridge Golf Club, Long Island's newest upscale championship layout in Coram, New York.
BCG will provide comprehensive management in the areas of course maintenance, golf operations, marketing, public relations and food-and-beverage.
"Billy Casper Golf is proud to direct activities at Pine Ridge and expand the company's portfolio of courses in the New York metropolitan area," says BCG Northeast regional vice president Brian O'Hare. "Pine Ridge is a prestigious golf community, and Billy Casper's expertise in various course situations in the tri-state area and nationally will help the course owner optimize its investment."
Owned by AvalonBay Communities, Pine Ridge is an upscale daily-fee public golf course and an integral part of the Avalon Pines residential development in Suffolk County. A 6,607-yard layout with three sets of tees, Pine Ridge offers tree-lined holes, bent grass fairways, greens and tees and a state-of-the-art practice center.
Pine Ridge is also constructing a 4,000 square-foot restaurant and clubhouse to open at the start of the 2007 season. Located at the entrance to the course, the clubhouse will offer excellent vistas of the layout and will serve as a wonderful venue for golf outings, social functions and other special events. The clubhouse will also feature a wrap-around deck and a full-service pro shop complete with name-brand equipment and apparel.
Heading up operations at Pine Ridge is the duo of PGA member general manager Tom Moore and superintendent Brian Goleski. Moore is a golf industry veteran and has been managing layouts on Long Island for more than a decade. Goleski's pedigree includes working to prepare Pebble Beach and Shinnecock Hills for the 2000 and 2004 U.S. Opens, respectively. Pine Ridge's knowledgeable staff of teaching professionals is available for an array of instruction offerings, including private lessons, group clinics, junior programs and other player development initiatives.
