Billy Casper Golf has been selected to manage golf operations at Castle Oaks Golf Club in Ione, Calif.
BCG was chosen as a strategic management partner to guide golf course maintenance; marketing; sales; staffing and training; merchandising; food and beverage; golf instruction and financial management for Castle Oaks. Operations will be locally-managed by a professional golf and agronomic team, and supported by both a regional and national team that provide expert guidance and direction in all facets of the business. BCG also manages Lincoln Hills Golf Club located 50 miles north in Lincoln, Calif.
“Castle Oaks offers a premier course in a prime location, just 45 miles from Sacramento,” says Scott Justman, BCG regional director of operations. “We look forward to improving its position as a ‘go-to’ golf destination and enhancing the experience for local golfers.”
Opened in 1994, Castle Oaks remains one of Northern California’s premier public courses.
“Partnering with Billy Casper Golf allows Castle Oaks to increase its visibility in the Sacramento metro and beyond,” says Judy Chang, managing attorney, Judy Chang Law Firm. “BCG’s intimate knowledge of the golf landscape will be a huge asset.”
BCG began full management Jan. 1, 2018.
Designed by renowned architect Brad Benz, Castle Oaks’ superb layout challenges players of all skill levels. It is situated on the historic oak-studded Preston Farmlands and overlooked by Preston Castle, built a century before the course in 1894.
