Automated Managed Services showcased its BigMow robotic mower at Saltex 2017 Nov. 1-2 at the NEC Birmingham. Saltex is the United Kingdom’s largest national event for grounds care, sports, amenities, estates and green space management.
"I am very pleased with the success we had at Saltex, being-first time exhibitors it certainly exceeded our expectations,” AMS owner Philip Sear said. “We had a high level of visitors to our stand and have a good number of leads to follow up on. It was also great to see a wide range of people from across the industry from the UK and Europe. We are definitely looking forward to next year’s show.”
The stand mainly featured the BigMow robotic mower, a lightweight, quiet and environmentally friendly automated alternative to conventional mowers. The robot mower can cover up to 2.5 hectares (6.1 acres), making it ideal for sports fields, golf courses, public areas and public or private parks. It has a total of 15 cutting blades that pulverises the grass into very fine particles and a mulching technique that produces the perfect cut, creating healthier greener grass areas. BigMow utilizes an underground perimeter wire for navigating, which sends an electromagnetic signal recognized by a sensor on the robot, determining the distance from the edge of the grass area.
Operating day and night, the mower provides the perfect cut with minimal human intervention and is designed to cater for large areas and professional applications.
