Bergin Golf Designs has begun construction on two of their renovation projects in Tennessee and Georgia.

Atlanta, Ga. – Bergin Golf Designs has begun construction on two of their renovation projects: Chattanooga (Tenn.) Golf & Country Club and West Pines Golf Club in Douglasville, Ga.

Chattanooga Golf & Country Club is a 1920 Donald Ross design along the banks of the Tennessee River. Bill Bergin will restore many of the original Ross characteristics, add his own interpretation of Ross features, and return the course to its 1920s style. The greens complexes of all 18 holes will be reconstructed along with all fairway bunkers and tee complexes. Construction is expected to be completed by Course Crafters in early summer, allowing the members to play the course in October.

West Pines Golf Club is a public facility owned by the city of Douglasville. Bergin Golf Designs will be implementing a total renovation of the existing golf course. The rolling terrain and tree-lined fairways will provide a challenging and enjoyable golf course for players of all skill levels. According to the company, the renovation will result in a high-quality facility, while maintaining affordable greens fees. West Pines will be rebuilt by Forefront Construction and is scheduled to be open for public play in the fall of 2005.

In recent years, Bergin Golf Designs has opened several new courses, including Fairvue Plantation in Gallatin, Tenn., and Chariot Run, The Golf Course of Caesars in Elizabeth, Ind. Bergin also has completed renovations at Fox Den Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn., home of the Nationwide Tour’s Knoxville Open, and Dothan Country Club in Dothan, Ala.
