Bear Lake Reserve opens Jack Nicklaus golf course

The nine-hole Summit at Bear Lake Reserve opened July 5, just in time for Family Golf Month.

Bear Lake Reserve opened its 1,932-yard, par-29, nine-hole golf course on July 5, just in time for Family Golf Month.

“We want to encourage not only parents to play this great game, but also their kids,” said Bo Alexander, golf course superintendent and the current director of golf at Bear Lake Reserve. “Bear Lake Reserve offers an inviting golf experience that the entire family can enjoy without feeling intimidated.”

The Summit Golf Course features a diverse selection of par-3 and par-4 holes, which are more suitable for beginners and children learning the game. It also has a comprehensive practice facility where players of all levels can hone their skills. The walkable course is set against a wilderness backdrop and offers views of the surrounding mountains and forest. No doubt golfers will sometimes share the fairways with deer, foxes and wild turkeys.

In keeping with the environmentally sensitive vision of Jack Nicklaus Design, The Summit course was laid out to fit into the natural landscape of Bear Lake Reserve. Fairways are structured around forested areas with minimal disruption to the terrain, resulting in a course where golf and nature co-exist.

The Summit Golf Course is the latest addition to Bear Lake Reserve, which offers an array of outdoor activities, including boating, fishing and hiking. For more information call (877) 232-7553 or visit bearlakereserve.com.
