Bayer Environmental Science announced that Dylox insecticide recently received federal registration for a new liquid soluble (SL) formulation. The new formulation is packaged with a caution label.
“Dylox 420 SL insecticide is the only product offering curative control of third instar early spring and late season grubs,” said Nate Royalty, technical development manager, insecticides, Bayer Environmental Science. “The new formulation of Dylox provides a user-friendly method for fast knockdown and control of grubs and surface feeders.”
Applied at a rate of 4.6 to 6.9 fl. oz. per 1,000 sq. ft., Dylox 420 SL insecticide works by contact and ingestion. Contact activity provides quick knockdown, while ingestive activity ensures complete pest control.
The active ingredient in Dylox insecticide, trichlorfon, inhibits the breakdown of acetylcholine by acetyl cholinesterase, disrupting the proper functioning of the insect nervous system. The active ingredient in Dylox provides control of insects resistant to pyrethroid insecticides, offering added value to applicators.
The new formulation controls the following surface pests:
- Early and late white grub larvae, including:
o Masked chafers
o European chafers
o Japanese beetles
o Oriental beetles
o Sugarcane grubs - Chinch bugs
- Annual bluegrass weevil
- Sod webworms (lawn moths)
- Cutworm
- Armyworms
