Bayer announces Specticle Loyal Companion Photo Contest semifinalists

Voting continues through April 22.

Environmental Science, a division of Crop Science, a division of Bayer, has announced the semifinalists in the 2016 Specticle Loyal Companion Photo Contest as part of its ongoing celebration of two of the most dependable golf course companions for superintendents – course dogs and Specticle herbicide. Semifinalists include Thomas Mewborn or Riverlanding Country Club with his Labradoodle, Mia; John Genovesi, CGCS, of Maidstone Club with his Border Collie, Nala; and Matthew Crowther of Mink Meadows Golf Club with his Yellow Lab, Bert.

To enter, each contestant submitted a photo of himself and his course dog. Then, an objective selection panel of industry leaders identified the top three submissions for public voting. During the public voting period, which will continue through April 22, individuals can vote once per day for the semifinalist of their choice. When voting ends, the finalist with the highest number of votes will be declared the winner. Winners will be notified no later than April 23, 2016.

The grand prize winner will be eligible for a chance to win a variety of prizes, including:
-- One (1) free case of Specticle Total herbicide
-- One (1) Tundra 160 Yeti Cooler
-- One (1) Ruffwear dog coat
-- A $2,000 contribution to the winner’s local chapter of Golf Course Superintendents Association of America
-- Featured presence in a Bayer golf ad that will be published in industry magazines and other types of media in 2017
