Bayer names sales reps

Mike Kelly, Bob Ducote and Mike Hirvela were named golf market specialists.

Bayer Environmental Science announced three new sales representatives.  Recently, Mike Kelly, Bob Ducote and Mike Hirvela were named golf market specialists. They will be responsible for sales and product support for golf customers in their respective territories. 

“We are very pleased to have these three sales reps stepping into these positions,” says Neil Cleveland, general manager, green professional products, Bayer Environmental Science. “Each demonstrates outstanding knowledge of the industry as well as our products, which will prove to be an asset to customers.”

Mike Kelly

Mike Kelly has joined the company as a golf field sales representative in Minnesota, Iowa and North and South Dakota. Kelly will be responsible for selling the full portfolio of Bayer products to the golf market.

Before joining the Bayer sales team, Kelly was golf course superintendent at Edina Country Club, Edina, Minn., for eight years. Previously, Kelly worked as an assistant site superintendent for Thunder Hawk Golf Club, Beach Park, Ill.

Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in turf and landscape management from Oregon State University. He currently resides in Eagan, Minn.

Bob Ducote

Bob Ducote covers Southeast Texas as a field sales representative for the golf market.  Additionally, he is the golf and lawn care field sales representative in Arkansas and Louisiana.

Prior to joining Bayer, Ducote was a distributor sales representative for UAP Professional Products and Helena Chemical Company in the Houston golf market.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Ducote holds bachelor’s degrees in animal science and agronomy. A native of Houston, he is a current resident of Friendswood, Texas.

Mike Hirvela

Mike Hirvela will have responsibility for the golf market in Michigan as a golf field sales representative.

Most recently, Hirvela owned and operated Total Land Care, Inc. and Fertilizer in Royal Oak, Mich., one of 16 Michigan companies to be certified as a Healthy Lawn Care Provider by the Michigan Green Industry Association. Prior to that, Hirvela worked as golf course manager for Wabeek Country Club, Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Hirvela graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in turfgrass management and holds a B.B.A. in management from Adrian College. Hirvela lives in Novi, Mich.
