Environmental Science, a division of Crop Science, a division of Bayer, has announced its full lineup of interactive experiences for superintendents at GIS in San Diego.
“Golf course maintenance is becoming increasingly more demanding with changing environmental conditions and various business challenges that extend far beyond turf management,” said David Wells, golf business manager for the Bayer turf and ornamentals business. “At Bayer, we understand turf management is only a fraction of our customers’ daily concerns. That’s why we’ve dedicated ourselves to delivering not only an innovative product line, but also the service and unique experience that can help ensure our customers’ success for years to come.”
The Bayer booth #4327 is built on a promise to deliver innovative technologies and solutions, plant health expertise, world-class technical support and timely educational information to superintendents. At the booth, superintendents can engage with a variety of interactive features, including a living nematode lab where they can observe living nematodes through a microscope and speak with industry-leading experts. Other features include a revamped living turf display, where superintendents can learn more about plant health from the Bayer Green Solutions Team, and a live bee observation feature, which is part of the long-standing Bayer Bee Care program.
To celebrate recently launched Signature XTRA Stressgard, Bayer will offer booth visitors a chance to get their photo taken while wearing the characteristic grass jacket in front of a championship-themed backdrop. The same jacket will be traveling the country throughout 2016, stopping at various tournaments, national landmarks and golf courses, upon request. Booth visitors will also be introduced to two soon-to-be-released products from Bayer: Indemnify* nematicide and Exteris* Stressgard fungicide.
To continue to highlight the dependability superintendents receive from both Specticle and their course dog, Bayer booth attendees will be invited to enter the second installment of the Specticle Loyal Companion Photo Contest. The entry period will close March 12, 2016, and semifinalists will be selected by a third-party board of judges. After a public voting period, ending April 22, 2016, the grand prize winner will be announced. The grand prize winner receives a $2,000 contribution to his/her local GCSAA chapter, one free case of Specticle Total, a YETI cooler, one Ruffwear dog coat and the chance to be featured with his/her course dog in a Bayer golf ad that will be published in industry magazines and other media in 2017.
In addition to the fantastic opportunities for general booth visitors, Bayer will also offer several exclusive opportunities to its Gold and Platinum My Bayer Rewards members, including complimentary rides using the ride-sharing service Uber, during the tradeshow.
As part of its participation at GIS, Bayer is the exclusive sponsor of “Taste of The Town,” an interactive happy hour held across the show floor featuring local food and drinks. Attendees who visit at least four of the 10 stations and receive stamps on their entry card, will be entered in a drawing for generous cash prizes: $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000. The drawing is 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Bayer booth.
