BASF enters into marketing partnership with FarmLinks

The relationship offers participants in The Experience at FarmLinks more hands-on products and research.

BASF Turf & Ornamentals announced it has entered into a marketing partnership with FarmLinks by becoming a cornerstone partner with this unique research and marketing organization.

As a cornerstone partner, BASF will benefit from having a controlled, showcase environment in which to research and test products at one of the nation’s most beautiful golf courses, and the only research facility of its kind in the industry. BASF will invite 400 turf professionals each year to FarmLinks, which has already begun using BASF solutions including: Curalan EG, Emerald, Insignia and Trinity fungicides, Basagran T/O, Drive, Pendulum and Pendulum Aqua Cap herbicides, and Amdro Pro fire ant bait.

"Reaching turf professionals in this intimate environment, physically demonstrating best chemical practices and listening to the needs and concerns of these customers is a tremendous business and relationship opportunity," said Toni Bucci, Ph.D., business manager for BASF Turf & Ornamentals. "In addition to showcasing BASF product innovation, we’re able to listen to feedback from participants so we can better meet their current and emerging pest issues."

“We couldn’t be more pleased to start a relationship with BASF in this ongoing venture,” said Erle Fairly, president of FarmLinks. “Through our ongoing research, we know that superintendents are looking for easy-to-use chemical solutions that offer better value, and there is an enormous demand for information to help golf course superintendents and turf professionals select solutions to meet their turf and ornamental challenges. FarmLinks has sought out leaders in the industry to address these challenges, and I can’t think of a more ideal fit than BASF.  We are confident that this relation-ship with BASF will provide a tremendous value to us and to the more than 1,200 superintendents who visit our property each year.”

“This new marketing partnership is a great example of how a chemical company and a research facil-ity can work together to ensure the continuing development and maintenance of important turf main-tenance products,” said Mark Langner, FarmLinks’ director of agronomy and applied research. “The bottom line is this relationship with BASF allows everyone involved to deliver even greater capabili-ties, information, ease-of-use and value to consumers.”

Working with the best and the brightest, The Experience at FarmLinks offers unparalleled opportuni-ties to build relationships and learn about the latest and greatest innovations the industry has to offer. It is the leading advertising and marketing vehicle that puts products directly into the hands of the top decision-makers in the turf industry and offers limitless opportunities for research and development of golf-related products.

Other partnerships currently at FarmLinks include long-time cornerstone partner, The Toro Co., and premiere partner, Agrium Advanced Technologies (formerly Pursell Technologies).
