Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin welcomes Michael Rushing as the club director for Barton Creek Resort & Spa and the Barton Creek County Club. In this role, Rushing is responsible for all aspects of golf operations at the Fazio Foothills, Fazio Canyons and Crenshaw Cliffside courses. He will also assist with the management of the Palmer Lakeside course.
Most recently, Rushing served as the director of golf operations at The Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club, a 36-hole private resort and club in Florida. Prior to his tenure at Turnberry, Michael was the director of golf operations at Doral Golf Resort & Spa for two-and-a-half years and was fully responsible for the operation of five 18-hole golf courses, including the legendary Blue Monster, designed by Dick Wilson, and the Greg Norman-designed Great White. Rushing has also spent time at Pine Isle Resort at Lake Lanier Islands, Ga., Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Fla., English Turn in New Orleans, La. and the Colonial County Club in Ft. Worth, Texas.
Rushing, originally from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, is very excited to be returning to Texas to serve the golfers at Barton Creek Resort & Spa and play on the highly regarded courses.
