The Village of Vernon Hills, Illinois, and KemperSports recently unveiled The Back Nine at The Muni — a 16,000-square-foot putting green and short game practice facility with multiple chipping areas that will further enhance the player development opportunities at the municipal gem course.
Designed by golf course architect Todd Quitno, the short game facility is located adjacent to the first tee and clubhouse at the 9-hole Vernon Hills Golf Course.
Vernon Hills and KemperSports celebrated the opening on a beautiful afternoon in late April with a ribbon cutting and Village trustees and mayor Thom Koch hitting ceremonial first putts.
“We are excited to open this outstanding new community amenity,” Koch said. “Thank you to all of the Village team and KemperSports for making this a reality.”
