Advanced Sensor Technology’s UgMO product was recently featured on CNBC’s “Tech Effect” segment.
Founder and CEO Walt Norley fielded questions from Silicon Valley bureau chief Jim Goldman at the Home Depot Center outside Los Angeles, where UgMO is being installed this week. Norley spoke about how this wireless, underground soil-monitoring technology is positively affecting the environmental and economic factors of properties with precise data on water management.
Called a property manager's "best friend” by CNBC's Goldman, UgMO brings data 24/7 on soil moisture, temperature and salinity directly to turf managers' fingertips via wireless sensors and an intuitive software program. It removes the guesswork of when, where and how much to water, when and how much to fertilize, where to target disease prevention, etc. Turf performance is optimized and resource savings, especially water savings, are dramatic – upward of 25 percent.
