Golf industry discussions in recent years focused on “if” courses would be renovated and improved. Today the focus is on “when.”

Increasingly, that answer is “now.” Golf course decision-makers looking to make improvements and renovations to courses can benefit from a free, easy-to-use form offered by the American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA).
“Request for Proposal for Golf Course Architectural Services” is a comprehensive document designed to help developers, owners, superintendents and managers address key elements of a project, including general notice, scope of services, owner's responsibilities, submittal requirements and the selection process.
“What began as an uptick in large and small renovation projects has grown into a steady stream of work across North America,” says ASGCA President Lee Schmidt. “The ‘perfect marriage’ of courses committed to catching up on projects delayed by the recession and increased lending by financial institutions is coming together with greater frequency. The ‘Request for Proposal’ document is an important tool. It’s useful for first-timers who have never been involved in a golf venture, as well as managers and committee members who have been down this path before.”
ASGCA can also assist those preparing the Request for Proposal on creating the most comprehensive and efficient distribution list to make sure recipients are the most knowledgeable and well-prepared to bid on the proposed project.
The “Request for Proposal” is a complete document that provides a thorough list of areas to be reviewed in detail by the golf course owners/managers to help solicit competitive bids for the benefit of the project and the public. This free document is available for download at www.asgca.org, by calling ASGCA at (262) 786-5960 or emailing info@asgca.org.
