ASGCA awards regular membership to Grant Haserot

Haserot is the fourth member of Schmidt-Curley Golf Design to receive this designation.

Schmidt-Curley Design announces that lead designer Grant Haserot has been named a Regular member of the ASGCA (American Society of Golf Course Architects).

Haserot joins firm principals Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley, as well as fellow lead designer Andy Raugust, as Regular members of the esteemed organization.

"Grant's been vital to Schmidt-Curley's success since our founding in 1997," says Brian Curley. "His contributions to acclaimed U.S. projects such as Oak Quarry, Crosby National and Marriott's Desert Ridge, not to mention our myriad international credits, merits his inclusion among the best in the industry."

A 1987 graduate of Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo's School of Architecture & Environmental Design, Haserot joined Landmark Land Company upon graduation. He departed in 1990 for Nicklaus Design and spent three years in London, Milan and Shenzhen, China as a design coordinator. The Southern California native rejoined Landmark in 1994 as a design associate and worked on notable jobs like Las Vegas Paiute Resort, Mojave Valley Resort and The Plantation. Haserot became lead designer at Schmidt-Curley in 1997 and is currently responsible for all phases of design and construction management.

Gaining membership to the ASGCA is a rigorous two-year process. Applicants must be a citizen of the United States, Canada or Mexico, at least 28 years of age, have designed at least five 18-hole equivalents (three of which must have opened in the last five years) and adhere to a strict professional Code of Ethics. Four of the applicant's design credits are peer reviewed and three ASGCA members must personally vouch for his or her character, professional integrity and high-level of applied architecture skill. Only 177 individuals in the world grace the organization's membership scrolls.

Elevation to Regular member status is earned after completing three years in good standing as an Associate member and opening two additional 18-hole golf course equivalents.

"Grant's portfolio to date is quite impressive, yet his best work lies ahead of him," says Curley. "The achievement is a testament to his talents and, as Schmidt-Curley's fourth ASGCA member, demonstrates the quality of golf course architecture services our firm offers."
