Argentina's Pilar Golf Club adds ProLink GPS

Total News Golf will install and service ProLink GPS at golf facilities in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile.

ProLink Solutions’ South American distributor, Total New Golf, will install the ProLink GPS golf course management system at Argentina's Pilar Golf Club.

Pilar Golf Club encompasses 27 holes, designed by Ron Fream with broad fairways, large and undulating greens, ever-present hazards and plentiful trees. Founder Piero Vara's club hosted the 2006 Argentine Open and is the first course in South America to feature ProLink's industry-leading GPS system.

Based in Buenos Aires, Total News Golf will install and service ProLink GPS at golf courses and resorts in countries including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile. ProLink's features include pinpoint yardages, accurate hole depictions and helpful pro tips. The system also speeds pace of play while promoting increased food-and-beverage and merchandise revenue. In fact, courses installing ProLink GPS realize an average return on investment of more than 200 percent.

"At Pilar Golf Club we have always provided the finest amenities to members and guests, and adding ProLink GPS greatly enhances our offerings," says Luisa Vara, president. “Our players will appreciate the system's detailed information and graphics, designed to make their experience even more enjoyable. ProLink GPS will also allow our staff to better manage many course operations while generating new revenue streams."

Golf's popularity is spreading rapidly across South America, with nearly 600 courses in operation and more than 135 under construction. The continent boasts ideal weather, spectacular scenery and a variety of terrain perfectly suited to golf. Argentina, with more golfers and courses than any other South American nation, has garnered the international spotlight as the home of 2007 U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera, 2008 U.S. Senior Open champ Eduardo Romero and PGA TOUR winner Andres Romero.
