Overland Park is moving forward on improvements to St. Andrews Golf Club.

The City Council on Monday voted 9-0 to approve an agreement with Schreiner Golf to provide architectural services including planning, drawings and contractor negotiation assistance for the remodeling of the course. The agreement is for $40,000.

Improvements include renovating the greens, some tees, the driving range, the pump station for the course's irrigation system, planning a new executive nine-hole course and replacing some cart paths.

Renovations are expected to begin Aug. 15, 2005, and end April 1, 2006. The course will be closed during that time, a city staff member said. The improvements are expected to cost $1.4 million, and all the money will come from golf course revenues.
