Aquatrols donates $10,000 to EIG

Continued support of the Robert A. Moore Endowment funds research project.

In honor of its founder, Aquatrols Corp. continues its support of the Aquatrols Robert A. Moore Endowment Fund with a $10,000 donation to The Environmental Institute for Golf, the philanthropic organization of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA).

"The two-year research project started in 2008, 'Wetting Agent Effects on Rootzone Moisture Distribution Under Various Irrigation Regimes' by Douglas Karcher, Ph.D., University of Arkansas, is made possible by the support of Aquatrols," GCSAA director of research Clark Throssell, Ph.D., said. "The research will provide superintendents with a better understanding of how commonly used wetting agents impact moisture distribution in putting green rootzones. Information from this project will help superintendents to adjust their irrigation programs following wetting agent applications."

It is the second research project funded by the Aquatrols Robert A Moore Endowment. Moore and his family made the donation on behalf of Aquatrols at the 2009 Golf Industry Show in New Orleans earlier this year. The purpose of the endowment fund is to support applied research in optimizing the growing environment for golf course turf. The endowment recognizes Moore’s and Aquatrols’ contribution and ongoing commitment since 1955 to optimizing the turf-growing environment through more effective use of water and other resources. The goal is to develop maintenance practices that result in quality golf course conditions with minimal impact on the environment and lowered consumption of resources.

"Being a leader means accepting responsibility for environmental stewardship -- a role that Aquatrols takes very seriously," said Aquatrols President and CEO Tracy Jarman. "This research endowment fund is a fitting way to give back to the industry and recognize the contributions made by my father, Robert A. Moore and Aquatrols."

Aquatrols is a supporter at the Platinum Tee Club level of donors who contribute $5,000 or more annually to The Institute. Aquatrols is also recognized at the Governor's Club level in The Institute's cumulative giving program for donating between $50,000 and $99,999 since 1987. A GCSAA Silver Partner, Aquatrols advertises in the association's official publications, including Golf Course Management magazine, and exhibits at the Golf Industry Show.
