Anderson Creek Golf Club in Spring Lake, N.C., provides a variety of custom golf packaging options in the Sandhills region of North Carolina.

Anderson Creek Golf Club in Spring Lake, N.C., has launched a new venture, Anderson Creek Golf & Travel, which provides a variety of custom golf packaging options in the Sandhills region of North Carolina.

Director of golf Jon Hockaday has teamed with outside sales manager Vickie Fletcher to create a series of packages that feature lodging options in Fayetteville or Sanford, with golfing options in Fayetteville, Sanford and Pinehurst.

"We're excited because we have three destinations and people can build their own packages with Vickie on the phone," Hockaday says. "We want to be a custom packager to meet golfers' needs. We've got some great room rates and prices that will catch people's attention."

In addition to Anderson Creek, golf is available at more than 20 courses, including: National Golf Club, The Pit, Talamore and Little River in Pinehurst, Tobacco Road and Carolina Trace in Sanford, plus Cypress Lakes, Kings Grant and Gates Four in Fayetteville.

Fletcher provides personalized services, such as driving directions, lists of dining/entertainment options, and securing dinner reservations.

"Whatever the golfer needs, Vickie will handle it," Hockaday said.

Anderson Creek Golf Club serves as the package centerpiece. The course, designed by Davis Love III, was named best new course in North Carolina in 2001 and is currently ranked 35th in the state's top 100.

"It's as good a golf course as I've played in North Carolina," Hockaday says. "Davis Love did a tremendous job with the design and it's in great shape year-round."
