AMF Golf Management names executive director

The new role, held by Greg Lecker, focuses on development and delivery of member services.

AMF Golf Management Services hired Greg Lecker is the company's executive director. Lecker had been head golf professional at Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, N.J. for the past 18 years.

In his new role, Lecker will lead AMF in delivering current services and developing new offerings to AMF's golf professional members. In addition, Lecker will be instrumental in launching the company’s new assistant golf professional initiative unveiled at AMF's annual members' summit in November.

"Greg has been an outstanding professional for more than two decades and he understands our members' needs better than anyone in the business. In addition, he was responsible for bringing the partners of AMF together in 2004. His creativity and dedication to his fellow professionals will be a catalyst to raising AMF's ability to help our members address career-related issues."

Lecker brings nearly 25 years of golf industry experience to his new position. He turned professional in 1984 and worked as assistant golf professional at Wee Burn C.C. in Darien, Conn. and also at Oakmont (Penn.) C.C.  He became a member of the PGA of America in 1987. 1n 1990, he accepted the head golf professional position at Canoe Brook C.C. During his tenure the golf shop at Canoe Brook was recipient of several national merchandising awards and in 2000, Lecker was awarded the PGA National Merchandiser of the Year by his peers.

Eleven of his past assistants are currently head professionals around the country. Lecker has served on the New Jersey PGA Board of Directors for six years and was the host professional for several USGA events and many local championships.
