Agrotain celebrates course management

The second painting in the “Artistry of Golf” collection will be unveiled at the 2006 Golf Industry Show.

St. Louis – The second painting in the “Artistry of Golf” collection, a series of commissioned paintings paying tribute to the hard work and dedication of golf course superintendents throughout the world, will be unveiled at the 2006 Golf Industry Show, according to Agrotain International, LLC.

“Too often, the creativity and ingenuity that is part of golf course management goes unrecognized,” says Alan Nees, vice president of turf and ornamental sales at Agrotain Inernational. “This series is our way of recognizing professionals who combine the best of science and intuition to successfully practice their art.”

The second painting in the annual series, entitled “The Gathering Tradition,” showcases the 18th hole at The Tradition Golf Club at La Quinta, Calif. Arnold Palmer designed the course.

The painting – the work of artist Sandy Cashman Schmieder – showcases the 18th hole’s two unique fairways and prominently features Talking Rock, a mountain where Native Americans would gather at the base to discuss recent events while they ground corn in the impressions of the stone.

Superintendents who visit Agrotain International’s booth (No. 515) during the Golf Industry Show and take the “Stabilized Nitrogen Challenge” will automatically receive a commemorative poster featuring the artwork. Participants can also register to win one of 50 signed and numbered limited edition prints suitable for framing, as well as the grand prize - the original framed oil painting.
