Agrium Advanced Technologies is making a three-year commitment of $150,000 to support The Environmental Institute for Golf's grant for the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America's e-Learning Webcast Series and other important initiatives by The Institute.
In addition, William Boycott, Agrium Advanced Technologies president, has been appointed to The Institute's Advisory Council. The Advisory Council, headed by World Golf Hall of Fame member Greg Norman, provides guidance to The Institute's board of trustees in the areas of outreach, fundraising and strategic planning. The members are selected to enhance The Institute's ability to cultivate relationships with current and potential donors, as well as communicate the importance of the work conducted by The Institute, which is GCSAA's philanthropic organization.
“On behalf of The Environmental Institute for Golf, I would like to thank Agrium Advanced Technologies for funding the e-Learning Webcast Series Grant which provides education to GCSAA members in a flexible online manner that exemplifies the mission and vision of The Institute,” Norman said. “We are also very pleased about the addition of Bill to the Advisory Council, as he shares our passion for preserving the environment."
GCSAA's e-Learning program is an annual series of educational webcasts. The webcasts are hosted by industry experts and instructors from various university turfgrass programs and are available online live and for playback on demand.
"Agrium Advanced Technologies is committed to protecting and preserving our environment," Boycott said. "It is a perfect match for us to become more involved with The Environmental Institute for Golf and further the continuing education opportunities for GCSAA members, who are exemplary environmental stewards."
