Brandermill will continue to operate as a private club, with members having full access to Birkdale Golf Club. Birkdale Golf Club will continue as a semi-private club that hosts a strong membership component that will receive reciprocal privileges, while permitting selective public access.
“By offering Brandermill Country Club members full membership privileges at both Brandermill Country Club and Birkdale Golf Club, we will have a unique product in the local marketplace that will help attract new members, says Michael Hatch, principal and co-owner of Acumen Golf. “My partners and I are thrilled about the opportunity to acquire a club of this quality and potential. Now that the purchase is complete, we will initiate capital improvements to the property on the course, course machinery and throughout the clubhouse.
“The members at Brandermill are very pleased with the changes we’ve made so far and are looking forward to the future,” he says. “Our plans for member parties, social functions, a calendar of golf and non-golf events, and a true environment of courtesy and hospitality will allow us to service our current members and quickly add new members.”
