The New York State Turfgrass Association will host its annual statewide Turf & Grounds Exposition Nov. 12-14 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center in Rochester, N.Y. The exposition benefits those in the green industry, including golf course superintendents, sports field and grounds managers, lawn/landscape managers, and pesticide applicators.
This year’s program will offer professional development through research-based education and hands-on workshops. NYSTA is putting the focus on saving time and money.
One of this year’s new events is the assistant golf course superintendent workshop. Assistant superintendents will gain knowledge of resume-portfolio building and the skills they need on the pathway to becoming a superintendent. Kevin Doyle of the GCSAA and Greg Wojick of Playbooks for Golf will discuss communication, budgeting, project management and available GCSAA resources.
Dr. Daniel Potter from the University of Kentucky will provide the keynote address on Bee Decline, Pesticides and Politics: Challenges and Opportunities for the Green Industry.
