Michael Kubinec has been named vice president for Macro-Sorb Technologies, the company recently announced. He will also serve as vice president of Macro-Sorb's sister company, SMS Additive Solutions, a New Jersey-based company offering a wide variety of soil surfactants, spray adjuvants and tank-mix additives.

With a strong background in marketing and product development, Kubinec will lead all operational activities for both companies. He will manage sales, distribution, marketing, research and new product development for Macro-Sorb's complete line of amino-acid based products for turf and agricultural uses, as well as the full SMS line of products. He will also guide strategic planning and business development activities for both companies.
"Michael brings valuable product knowledge and industry experience uniquely suited to Macro-Sorb and SMS Additive Solutions," said Lance Seeton, owner of both companies. "He will provide outstanding support for our network of independent distributors and our long-standing and future customers."
Kubinec has more than 15 years of experience managing specialty product businesses. Most recently he was director of commercial operations for Plant Health Care, Inc., where he was responsible for managing the company’s global product sales businesses. He was also general manager of the U.S. Horticulture and Turf Division and territory sales manager for Plant Health Care from 2003 to 2009.
A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in forest science, Kubinec lives in the Pittsburgh area with his wife and daughter.
