Bay Hill hires new superintendent

Chris Flynn arrives from Orlando resort course.

Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge has appointed Chris Flynn to the position of golf course superintendent of the course and ground maintenance operations. His duties include overseeing the Bay Hill course that is home to the PGA Tour’s Arnold Palmer Invitational.
 
Flynn grew up in Westchester County, N.Y., where his interest in golf course management began at an early age thanks to his father and grandfather working in the same field. He became a caddie and worked alongside his father until graduating high school.  Flynn later attended the State University of New York, earning a degree in plant science before gaining golf course maintenance skills at clubs such as Westchester Country Club, Spyglass Hill Golf Club, TPC Four Seasons Golf Club and The Links at Spanish Bay. Flynn’s most recent position was director of grounds at Marriott’s Grande Vista Resort in Orlando. 

Flynn will direct and manage all operations concerning golf and grounds maintenance at Bay Hill. This includes the overall maintenance of the golf course, practice areas, clubhouse and guest house grounds to the highest standard of excellence that is enjoyed by guests and members. He will also coordinate all construction projects related to the golf course, and is responsible for all agronomic practices pertaining to course conditioning and horticultural programs, including working with the PGA TOUR to ensure optimal course conditions for the annual  Arnold Palmer Invitational Presented by MasterCard.
