Bayer announces EPA registration for Signature Xtra Stressgard

New fungicide for greens will be released in fall 2015.

To help meet the daily demands that golf course superintendents face and ensure improved quality of greens, Environmental Science, a division of Bayer CropScience, announced the EPA registration of Signature Xtra Stressgard – a new addition to the Stressgard Formulation Technology family with an optimized formulation that provides application flexibility and consistent plant health benefits.

“At Bayer, we understand the challenge that superintendents face in maintaining pristine turfgrass, especially on greens, throughout the playing season,” said Mike Hirvela, fungicide product manager for the professional turf and ornamentals business at Bayer. “That’s why we’ve leveraged the latest plant health technology to create Signature Xtra Stressgard, a solution that allows superintendents to unlock the maximum potential of their turf and gives them the ultimate reliability and peace of mind they’ve come to expect from Bayer solutions.”

The formulation of Signature Xtra Stressgard is optimized to better match intervals at which superintendents typically treat their greens, as well as the natural growth of the turfgrass plant itself. When Signature Xtra Stressgard is launched this fall, superintendents will have a product that is designed to help them achieve excellent turf health and disease control on greens – with protection from biotic and abiotic stresses, improved aerification recovery, winter recovery and early spring green-up.
