Participating BCG courses will offer discounts on equipment, apparel, food and beverage, and tee times. Golfers are encouraged to share their love for the game via @wearegolf using #NGD15.
National Golf Day celebrates the game’s nearly $70 billion economy, $4 billion annual philanthropic impact and many environmental and fitness benefits. Industry leaders will meet with Members of Congress, the Executive Branch and federal agencies on Capitol Hill to discuss golf’s nearly 15,350 diverse businesses, two million employees, tax revenue creation and tourism value. National Golf Day is managed by WE ARE GOLF, the industry coalition that communicates the economic, charitable and environmental impact, as well as the affordability and accessibility of golf.
“Billy Casper Golf is a significant contributor each year to National Golf Day and we are thrilled with the additional signage and activation at the course level,” said Steve Mona, CEO of World Golf Foundation and administrator of WE ARE GOLF. “Encouraging golfers to lend their voice in support of the #NGD15 social media campaign is crucial to increasing national awareness about the golf industry’s annual economic, charitable and environmental impact as well as the game’s accessibility and fitness benefits.”
“We proudly support National Golf Day as a means to educate lawmakers and the public at large about golf’s contributions to society,” said Peter Hill, chairman and CEO of BCG. “With a database that touches one of every eight golfers in America, Billy Casper Golf plays an important role in the vitality of the game.”
BCG employs more than 7,600 individuals during peak season at its 150-plus golf courses, country clubs and resorts. The company also hosts nearly 1,500 charity events, including the “World’s Largest Golf Outing” which it founded in 2011 and has raised more than $2.2 million for Wounded Warrior Project. With high environmental standards, 100 percent of BCG courses are enrolled in the Audubon International Certified Cooperative Sanctuary program and BCGreen manages turf and other aspects of golf properties with eco-friendly best practices.
