Global Turf Equipment adds veteran mechanic

Rocky Lackey joins company as service manager.

Global Turf Equipment announced Rocky Lackey has joined the team as service manager.

Lackey has been an expert mechanic and iron worker for more than 25 years. Most recently, he was senior manager of golf and grounds equipment maintenance at Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee, Fla. As leader of a four-person team, he was responsible for maintaining the 1,800-acre, 54-hole facility’s entire fleet of machinery. Notable achievements include negotiating an equipment package that saved the resort nearly a quarter-of-a-million dollars, as well as myriad accolades for outstanding on-the-job performance.

"Rocky’s addition further evidences how serious we are about building an extremely talented team to service our customers,” said Jim Sartain, president of GTE. “He is an expert on all types of machinery and will play a key role in ensuring our pre-owned equipment is fully functional when it rolls out of our state-of-the-art warehouses.”

Based outside Tampa, GTE showcases 750-plus “like new” machines across several warehouses totaling more than 45,000 sq. ft. GTE services golf facilities in all 50 states and more than 80 countries.
